The Last Year…

So much has happened in the last year I am not even sure where to begin… We had another karaoke party for Halloween in 2015. It was super fun. Then February 14th, 2016 we had a fire at my father’s business, it was a total loss. My parents decided to sell the house and property the business was on.

So that meant my hubby and I had to go house hunting. We looked at many homes. Finally found one that we really loved and have been in our new place for about 2 and a half months now. The folks found a buyer for the place and the sale should be finished soon. It will be hard to see the place go, so many memories…

My brother got divorced, but I think he is much happier now. My Niece was in a four-wheeler accident, but is doing a lot better. My crafting business has slowed down and I have been enjoying making curtains and decorating my new home. I know this is a short update, but I will try to start being a little bit more attentive to my blog now that all the drama in my life has slowed down as well! Until next time…

Drinking a lot of hot tea with honey and lemon……..

Hello again everyone!!! Our big bash for the end of summer went very well! Lots of people came…family, old friends and I made some new friends too! It started at 6:00 pm on Saturday night and I finally called it a night at 1:30 am. Some of them were still partying at 6:00 am Sunday Morning! Crazy!

Since yesterday I have a horse voice and this morning I can barely talk…so I am drinking a lot of hot tea with honey and lemon and speaking as little as possible today, and that my friends is very difficult for me… I am a chatterbox normally!

Until Later…

Before Technology Took Over……

I know I am opening myself up to a lot of ridicule with what I am about to say here, but it is still a free country and I would like to voice my opinion here on this subject. I realize many people may not feel the same way and that is OK. I just felt the need to share. I will not criticize you for your opinion either, so please feel free to comment…

Do you ever stop and think how much simpler our lives were before technology took over? Before cell phones, before computers, before video games or even before television. Marriages were for a lifetime not just a few years or months, some still last but so many do not. Families were closer, friendship actually meant something, and I know it still does to some people….
Meals were home cooked not ordered through a drive-through window. Entertainment was a board game or playing hide and seek in the yard. You grew your own veggies and canned them, made your own jams and jellies. Mowed our own yards.

Although I love technology, I loved my childhood and wouldn’t change a thing about it. I am just as guilty as the rest of you on most things. I have a cell phone, tablet, chrome book, computer and a Wii. My husband and I eat out more than we should, but we also mow our own yard and have a garden. We can our own veggies and jams. We make homemade pasta and bread (without the use of a bread maker or pasta maker) from scratch. We both know how to sew, crochet and cook. We have found a balance of both.

I worry about our future with this new generation we are bringing up. Most of these teenagers and young adults (in my hometown anyway) do not even know how to count back change without a gadget to tell them how much to give you back. Our school system and most parents are focusing more on sports then the education of these kids. Schools are more like country clubs now. We really need to get our priorities in check or the future of our society is in serious trouble. I could go on and on but I feel the need to leave it at that…
Love to All and God Bless….

Since my last post……

While I am sitting here enjoying my morning coffee and watching the morning news I thought I would write a quick update for you all. Since my last post, my day-to-day activities are pretty much the same not much has changed. My family is doing good for the most part. We have our ups and downs just like every family does. My Hubby is doing great at his job…but my sales have slowed down. I am now working on Christmas items to stock my shelves with…

We are having a big bash for the end of summer this weekend and are frantically trying to get everything all set up for that! I am super excited, it should be a blast! Karaoke and a big bon fire! More than 100 people have been invited! Lots of family and friends!

Hope you all are doing well….Until Later…

Lazy Day…

I am setting here today looking out my dinning room window watching the rain fall trying to decide what I want to do today. I have plenty of things I should be doing but just can’t get up the energy to do them. I just feel like being lazy today. So…..do I just go lounge in the living room and read a good book or watch Netflix all day? Do I feel like crafting/sewing? Or do I actually get off my butt and do house work today? Decisions, decisions….

What are all you wonderful people doing today? Whatever it is I hope you have more energy then I do…

Until Later…Love to All

Death….

This last week has been very difficult for my family…

It started out with my Grandmother giving us all a terrible scare, she stopped breathing and we rushed her to ER. We spent the day at the hospital with her while they ran numerous tests. It was her heart, but she is doing much better now and is home and happy. The next day my wonderful Uncle lost his battle with Cancer, to tell you what type of cancer he had would be very difficult due to the fact it was all through his whole body. He was a very special man to me and my family. I spent a lot of summer’s with him and my Aunt growing up. He helped us so much when my mother was going through her colon cancer. He was also my Godfather. He will be deeply missed. Although we have shed many tears for him… our tears are actually because we are hurting not because he is. He is in a much happier place now. No more pain and suffering for him. So hug your loved ones tight and tell them how much they mean to you, you never know how long you have with them.

Until Later…Love to All
